Online Class: Prescriptions for Nutritional Healing (through Holistic Online University
Wednesdays, February 1 - March 7, 7:00 - 9:30 pm

Each week, we will cover a different topic related to food and health. This 6-week course is a great primer for someone who wants to begin to eat better, but doesn't know where to start!! NOTE: Recordings will be available for those not able to make it the evening of the course.

Feb. 1st - Back to Basics: learn the essentials for stocking your kitchen; equipment, pantry items, refrigerator items.
Feb. 8th - Taking Stock - The Art of Making Soup: learn the difference between meat stocks and bone broths; learn how to make stocks in order to gain the most benefit from them
Feb. 15th - The Skinny on Fats - how real fats heal: Learn which fats are the best for cooking and learn how to render your own healthful fats.
Feb. 22nd - Cooking with Grains: learn the traditional art of preparing grains so that they are most easily absorbed and utilized by the body.  This class will reach far beyond pasta and rice!!
Feb. 29th - Cooking with Greens: Learn different ways to prepare vegetables throughout the seasons.
March 7th - Fermentation: Learn the traditional art of fermentation - a method of preserving food which also increases its nutrient value and assists in digestion. We will be making fermented vegetables, fruits and drinks.

Cooking Class: Warming Winter Soups
Sunday, January 29, 1:00 - 4:00 pm

The weather has taken a turn! Join me on Sunday January 29th for a cooking class that will warm you up! We will discuss the importance of soups and demonstrate new and tasty soup recipes to keep your energy warm and steady these winter months.

Menu includes (but is subject to slight change):

  • Moroccan Vegetable Soup with Lamb
  • Kale, Sweet potato and Chorizo
  • Winter White Soup
  • Borscht
  • Curried Red Lentil soup with Coconut milk

$40 per person

Create Your Own Class

Share a night with friends in your home. We'll come up with a menu together, the chef will bring the ingredients, and together we will prepare fun, satisfying meals with a twist! Some sample class menus include:

Caribbean Feast:

  • Jamaican Jerk Chicken
  • Hearts of Palm Salad
  • Mango Coconut Meringue

Celebrating the Autumn Harvest:

  • Butternut Squash Soup with Toasted Pepitas and Curried Cream Swirl
  • Fig, Walnut and Goat Cheese Salad with Balsamic Reduction
  • Curried Quinoa Pilaf
  • Roast Chicken with Roasted Autumn Vegetables
  • Stewed Fruit in Ginger Syrup

Kids in the Kitchen

Let your kids have fun playing with their food while creating something that they'll be sure to eat!

They'll learn where farm-fresh food comes from and how delcious real food can be! Plus, they'll learn how to be safe in the kitchen, how to use basic kitchen tools, how to follow directions and will develop an appreciation for family meal times.

Arrangements made for children's special dietary needs. Structure of classes and menu are based on children's ages.
